When There Is Hardly Any Choice.
72Never say that life is unfair, although so many people are so confused with so many choices in front of them while others don't have at all.
Here are some illustration about those who make sacrifices due to having no choices in life.
ˆÜˆ
As the queen of a household, I dream of staying at home, taking care of it, its contents and the people living in it.
As a house wife, I dream of staying at home, preparing food for my husband and family.
As a mother, I dream of staying near my children, watching them grow and making sure they are treated in a good hands.
As a woman, I dream of my husband becoming the breadwinner of family.
Because of the prevailing local value and culture, I have to do this dark-blue collar job.
God, thank You for giving me those dreams...

My wife, children, and my other dependence at home.
Don't worry about me. I'll take care of myself. Just pray for my safety so that I can see you at home and bring you some money to cook some food, to go to school, or just to buy a bottle of ointment to ease your rheumatism.
God, please save my life with your lavish protection. I dare to take the risk of my job for one reason I believe: anything good or bad happens only with your consent.

I'm supposed to be retired at this age but that coziness only happens in my dream. Retirement only belongs to those who worked for established companies, but me ?
What happens if I don't work ? who feeds me ?
What happens if I get sick ? who will buy me the jamu* (to see the doctor is impossible) to cure my illness ?
What happens if I don't have money ? who will pay the rented room ?
I'm tired doing this job but I don't have any choice.
* Jamu : traditional herbal medicine taken as the alternative of more expensive prescribed medicine.

I should raise and protect protect my baby from dust, rain, and the sun heat, and a home is what he needs to stay.
I should send him to school for education, and a kindergarten is what he needs to play around with his friends.
Forgive me my boy, mom can't let you stay at home since no one else but me who can take care of you.
Forgive me my boy, mom can't send you to kindergarten since I can't afford the fee.
Forgive me my boy, mom can't do that all since I have to work for us to eat tomorrow.
Forgive me my boy, mom has to involve you facing the harshness of our life.

I don't live in the wild as other monkeys normally do. Forest life is history since now I live with a team of a street opera.
My friends say living in a zoo is even better than in the street like this. What my friends only need to do is just hang around from one tree to others to make the visitors happy.
They don't have to wear a mask to have a funny look nor ride a mini motorcycle to acrobat which are absolutely not my things.
I'm grateful anyway, that I don't have to be in a laboratory cage to be a guinea pig (although I'm a monkey) and sacrificed in the name of science.

Excellent slices of life that made me think on my lucky. Thank you.
The harsh conditions of life for many people and animals in this world are nicely sketched out with your words and photos in this hub. Yes...many people have few or no choices in life!
I really loved this hub..so much truth! Thank you for sharing. You hit on almost every heart song.

Agusfanani, Your hub has made me stop to think how fortunate my family and I are...how could I complain as much as I do? It's something I should think about, and often. It is reality that many do not have a choice and you've painted a very true picture of it. I should ponder this more often and perhaps, try to reach out and help more. God Bless You!
This was very original hub. Life is so complicated. No one can refuse this, we just accept and see what happen next. Just standing without doing some actions make us lazy, we have to struggle in supporting our life. We need money though money really can't give us the real happiness. As Indonesian people.....I cry and my tears would never stopped until the poverty isn't really disappear from my country.
You share a fact, my friend. I must open my eyes and begin to give some help. Especially the people in my neighborhood. Thank you very much. Rated UP UP UP! God bless you!
Blessing and hugs,
Often when I volunteered as a counselor at an assistance ministry, I was most moved by those who had far less and were struggling. Their faith was so inspirational despite their handicaps. We can all learn from this!
This is such a good hub! Thanks again!
Life is not like you wish it. It is not easy and there is so much compitition in this world. But if you try hard then you would acheive your dreams even if it takes lots of time.
This is the best from you! Great job, brother! vote up and awesome. I'll send this to my Facebook page and twitter.
Wonderfully done! Wonderfully done!Very refreshing. Beautiful! God bless you!
As I get older I realise that we have many choices about things that are insignificant, but the really big issues - where we were born, our genetic heritage, extreme weather - are beyond choice.
However, those of us who have been blessed with being born in industrial countries in the West have many choices that we take for granted.
This is a beautiful hub that has made me count my blessings.
