73
When people have the opportunity to visit Singapore, riding Singapore Flyer is an activity they should consider to try.
Being 165 m high above the earth and hence boasted as the tallest flyer in the world, Inside glassed capsules, people will be brought traveling around 360ยบ in sky enjoying the pretty scenery of Singapore in obviously different sensation.
The Location
Singapore Flyer is located at Marina Bay. The place is quite near Promenade MRT station that makes it very accessible. Besides by MRT which stops at Promenade station, the flyer location can also be reached by bus or by taxi- besides, you certainly can go there by your own car, of course.
When you walk out of the Promenade MRT station, you'll see part of huge wheel of Singapore Flyer in the sky in the distance and it help you find the right direction to go to the flyer location.
What attractions can be viewed ?
In the height of 165 m above the earth, from the bird view locations inside 28 secure capsules, every of which has the capacity up to 28 passengers, bring the passengers smoothly fly and give them scenes of the neatness and well-planned areas of Singapore overlooking historical and popular landmarks like Raffles Place, Merlion Park, Singapore river, Esplanade, Singapore F-1 circuit, Empress Place, Singapore floating platform/stadium, glimpses of Singapore neighboring countries like Indonesia and Malaysia, and many more sights.
Passengers flying together with me were all enthusiastic with their activities in the flyer. Almost all of them of course didn't miss opportunity taking pictures in turns, families tried to give fun-learning activity to their children relating every object they observe below with their respective names and functions, others pointed out trying to identify one by one the constructions they saw on earth, while photography enthusiasts made good use of every opportunity by taking pictures from different angles and from every corner of the capsule.
Some also had their own way in enjoying the flight. Standing against the glass wall, they quietly saw outside making no oral expressions and once in a while also point their cameras at interesting objects.
If photography is your cup of tea, you can test your skill in photography by taking pictures and get panoramic beauty that other photographers won't be able to make unless they ride Singapore Flyer too.
Or at the very least, you can capture your own pictures inside the flyer capsule for your remembrance using your cameras of cellphone cameras while enjoying every special moment in the capsule. I also had my pictures taken with sparkling colorful lights amidst the night scenes of the city below.
To be able to ride Singapore Flyer, people need to buy tickets which cost 29.50 S$ for adult, 20.65 S$ for children, and 23.60 S$ for seniors.
Prior to entering the flyer platform, visitors pass multimedia galleries which present Singapore's dreams which are devided in 7 categories : The Prelude, The Dreamscape, The Discovery, Fragment of Dreams, Dream Journal, Dream Reflections, and Reservoir of Dreams
Those seven dreams depict many aspects of Singapore, and featuring basis of the city as Futuristic, Cosmopolitan and Global City, Garden City and Multi-racial and Cultural City.
Flying in Singapore Flyer takes around 30 minutes. The feeling of excitement the riders feel make the time was too short. Although the ticket price 29.50 S$ was pretty costly for my budget, but considering it might be once-in-a-life-time experience flying in the tallest flyer in the world made the ticket price sounded reasonable.
